Austin Schmidt

Austin Schmidt is from North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and an alumnus of Norwin High School. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where he performed and participated in various ensembles and studied percussion under Dr. David Glover and Mrs. Kimberly Glover.  

 

He is currently the Front Ensemble Coordinator at Nomad, as well as a Front Ensemble Instructor and the percussion Artist-In-Residence at Norwin High School. In addition to his responsibilities teaching the front ensemble at Norwin, Austin teaches private lessons in the district, as well as the High School Percussion Ensemble. Past teaching experiences include Matrix Open, Gateway HS, North Allegheny HS, and Moon Area HS.

 

Austin is also an alumnus of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2018) and Matrix World (2016, 2018) where he studied under the tutelage of Rob Ferguson, Cory Doran, and Ryan Reed.
